Hudson started back to school yesterday. He was ready and excited…I was not. I will miss seeing his smiling face all day everyday. I think his sister will probably miss him the most. She wasn’t quite sure what to do with herself yesterday. Neither was I. We are still talking about homeschooling, but for the time being he is going to public school. We’re happy with the teacher he ended up getting and he ended up in a class with many of his friends from kindergarten. It’s a great setup.
Oh this kid. He melts my heart. I can’t believe he’s a first grader.
Now that school has started I can feel fall slowly creeping in. The air seems to feel and smell different even though it’s still blazing hot. I’m already starting to crave pumpkin spice candles, blankets, cooking with the crockpot, sweet pumpkin tea at night and college football. I’ve been contemplating getting out my unfinished quilting project from last year and finishing it so it’s ready to use by September. I might have to do that today, but I won’t buy that pumpkin candle until September. I’m not ready to give up summer quite yet. I plan to enjoy what’s left and make some more memories.
