As I mentioned before, I did my Week In The Life two weeks early because I wanted to capture our summer instead of a week during the school year since I just did that last October. If you would like to learn more about Week In The Life click over to Ali Edwards blog here. Here is a look at our Monday which was actually August 3.
I always open the kitchen window first thing in the morning if it isn’t too hot or humid outside. I love having that fresh air flowing in. It’s my favorite way to start the day.
Harper got right down to playing. She usually does.
My morning coffee in my favorite Goodwill mug. Archer Farms coffee with vanilla Coffeemate creamer.
I went outside to take my weekly garden photos and found that one of the zinnias finally bloomed. Very exciting for me.
I took the kids out front to play with chalk and ride bikes before the heat set in. We were out there for about an hour. Then they got hot and thirsty and wanted to go inside for drinks.
I left the kids at home to play (since Jeremy works for home and didn’t have any meetings) while I went on a quick Target run to grab a few things before lunch time.
I came home to find Hudson playing the Super Nintendo. My parents gave it to us a few weeks ago and he is loving Mario Kart and Super Mario World.
Lunch today was a chicken sandwich, chips and watermelon. Oh it was really good watermelon too. I usually try to read a bit while I eat my lunch. Today it was Poser.
The kids like to eat their lunch in the living room while they watch cartoons, which is fine with me because that’s really the only time during the day that they get to watch anything.
I got an email saying that a book I put on hold at the library was ready, so I ran to get it quick. The library is super close to our house. I also grabbed some movies while I was there. I love the library.
I started to prep dinner a little early because I had lots of chopping to do for salads. And I had to toast the pecans.
Jeremy finished with work around 5 and came upstairs. I put him to work grilling the chicken for our salads.
We had one of our favorites. It’s a blueberry chicken salad with goat cheese and toasted pecans. Delicious. I realized after I took the photos and we started eating it that I had forgotten to add the goat cheese.
We decided to treat the kids to Dairy Queen for dessert. They were excited. We had to eat it in the car so it wouldn’t melt too fast.
Jeremy taking out the trash just like every other Monday evening.
Reading bedtime stories. I forgot to take photos of the bedtime routine tonight, so I did more of that the next few days. I typically read to Harper and Jeremy reads to Hudson. The boys have a little routine that they like to do. Sometimes we switch it up though.
I didn’t take any more photos the rest of the night. I was super tired and ready to relax so I ended up in bed early just watching tv. Then Jeremy came out of Hudson’s room and joined me. Monday nights are always pretty lazy.
