I know I’ve mentioned before that I’ve been thinking about homeschooling and if it could be the right choice for our family. I go back and forth with wanting to take the plunge and being too scared to actually do it. None of my friends or family members homeschool and I’m pretty sure that they all think I’m out of my mind for even considering it, but that hasn’t changed my thinking. I can’t seem to get it out of my head and so I’ve decided that the only way to make a decision is to talk to someone who actually homeschools to find out more. It’s different in every state and there’s so much information out there that it feels very overwhelming to try to figure it all out on my own.
I recently reached out to someone I “met” on Instagram who lives in the same city and homeschools her two children who are about the same ages as mine. I have never reached out to anyone like this before, but felt compelled to do it because I just can’t seem to shake the feeling that homeschooling would be a great fit for our family. I plan to take a notebook and ask lots of questions. I’m looking forward to learning more so that I can weigh the pros and cons and hopefully make the best decision. I’m not sure if we can even start homeschooling this year or we’ll have to wait until next year, but I’m excited about the possibility.
I will definitely post more about it after my meeting today.
