Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
I didn’t have time to blog yesterday because I was totally engrossed in Gone Girl. I’ve been wanting to read this one for a very long time. I kept putting it off because it was never on sale on my Kindle, wasn’t in the library and I didn’t want to buy the book. However, once I saw that the movie would be coming out this fall it jumped to the top of my reading list. My mom ended up buying the book so I had to wait for her to finish before I could read it.
I’m sure most of you already know the gist of it, so I won’t go into detail, but I will say I loved it. It was everything I had anticipated; complex characters (very complex), a little shocking at times and the ending was unexpected. Even though I had read a lot of opinions about the book and it’s ending, I didn’t let that affect my take on it. Now after finishing it, I can understand why some might be disappointed by the ending, but I thought it was right on.
I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait to see the movie now. And man oh man do I think that Ben Affleck is THE perfect actor to portray this character. I can’t imagine anyone more fit to play the role of Nick Dunne. And I’m so intrigued by the actress that plays his wife, Amy. I bet she kills it.
There is nothing better than a cup of coffee and a great book. Have a great weekend!
