And just like that I became the mom of a kindergartener. Sigh. I’m not sure how it all went so quickly. One day he was sleeping in my arms and the next I was standing in line outside of his new school waiting to drop him off for his first day of kindergarten.
It is so bittersweet for me. I love watching him grow up learning so many new things along the way, but I miss having him home with me all day every day. He’s loving school though and that definitely makes the transition so much easier. I guess I don’t imagine that there will ever be a time that I don’t miss having him home with me.
All of the cliches are true about how fast the time goes when you’re watching your babies turn into toddlers and then big kids. You want to slow it down sometimes, or even stop it at certain points to savor it as long as possible. But you also want to see them experience all the new things the world has to offer them at all their different stages and you can’t do that without moving forward.
It’s all so awesome.
We are so proud of our little man.
P.S. We did not prompt him to hold hands with or hug his little sister. He did that all on his own. My heart almost burst.
P.P.S. He really needed a haircut.
